Our journey

What began as trading grew into transformation.

Since 1997, B.A.T. Services has been on a mission to redefine how industries deal with waste and by-products.

In 2001, we shifted our focus to organic by-products, transforming them into valuable raw materials using advanced technologies. Today, we are recognised as a pioneer in waste-stream recovery, with innovation and sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

Our growth

From the first transaction to a new generation of energy.

1997B.A.T. Services — Best Available Technology is founded.
1997–2001Trading and recovery of organic-biological waste, minerals and chemical streams.
200150% participation in BioMass Center, a composting and biogas facility.
2007Acquisition of 100% of BioMass Center.
2011–2012Participation and partnership with Laviedor; B.A.T. France is founded.
2017New biogas projects, 10 MW of green energy and CO₂ capture.
2024BioMass Center is renamed Bio Blue.
2025Preparation of the largest biomethane injection project in Flanders: up to 2,000 m³ per hour.
